let me know what you think...it is a little different from what other may be doing on the fourm (but dont hold this against me...I really like ArtRage -own a full version - and it is helping be create again!

I Guess I was in a strange mood today....decided that I would make another portrait.

I am just trying to get my brush work down and the sprinkles made it a little cheesy.. I was kind of going for the Greorge Washington portrait in the national Gallery I think that is where it is):

    hi smartdog22,

i think every picture that expreses a mood
is a good picture. And yours do, beside showing
technical abilities on high level. im no expert
in art but feel that you ask yourself "now, what
is it worth to be painted?", "whats the relevance?"

my son is 25 and studies art and philosophie
at the art academy in Mainz/Germany. When
he painted (at the moment he goes more on video/photo)
i saw pictures similiar to yours (shown above).
we often discussed, what art can be and do in this world.
he hates the commercial aspect which is today common.

    Your pictures are very good!
    hope to see more.
    much luck.

    Juergen,

Thank you very much for you lovely post.

I know a lot of artist that do not like the commercial aspects and I understand the logic.

I just enjoy combining images and painting. I am a have been inspired by the work of:
    Robert Rauschenberg : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Rauschenberg
    and
    kurt schwitters

and the boxes of the Joseph Cornell

Thank your comments....and enjoy your talks with you son :-)

We All Join In is a fascinating concept piece ... I like it alot. I don't like George Bush but that's personal.

    RobertSWade,

Thank you for critiquing the work.

I am not a fan of George Bush either...but for some reason I felt like painting him. Maybe it was some kind of catharsis.

by the way your " Mountain Tree" painting still excites me every time I look at it.
