    ArtRage 4 Linux!

Great ArtRage runs fine on Wine, but I think ArtRage can gain a lot preformance wise if it'd be running native on Linux!

    Still thinking about it?

    I agree,
Linux users need a native Linux version,
instead of counting on Wine developers to keep it stable.

ArtRage is a great software, Linux is a great OS, both could have a common future !

If I may add something, porting ArtRage to Linux shouldn't be so costly, as it is based on GDI+, and as Mac OS X (another UNIX brother) already supports it !

If you sell a Linux version, I buy it for sure !!

I am mostly a linux user, so it would be cool.

I'd buy an copy for linux, despite already owning one for OSX and another for Windows.

I am a linux user as well and vote for such a version.

But there is not such a big need at the moment,as it runs well on wine. I hope this compability doesnt break with future versions.

Art Rage 2 works anyone get commercial one to work

I have Art Rage 2 on linux, but I can't get Art Rage 2.5 to work..

BTW, how I found out about Art Rage in the first place was
running Wine-Doors, an application that is presented as a
windows installer for wine (somewhat like synaptic, but for wine).
Art Rage 2 is one of the applications you can download and install.

Thats how I found out about Art Rage.. I paid for the program thinking
I could get the commercial version to work in Wine, but it doesn't work
    for some reason..

FYI, I have a wacom tablet to, in fact I just purchased a Intuos3, I use it in windows mainly, but would be nice if there was better support for it and art rage on linux, even if just by wine..

Check out the ArtRage/Linux threads in the technical forum.

(There are others in the tech forum as well).

ArtRage 2.5 will work under Wine, with a bit of tweaking.

just copy gdiplus.dll into wine's system32 folder. Should work as a charm.

BUT dont use wine version 0.9.53. It has problems with pressure sensitivity in artrage. The moment you touch the stylus to the board, artrage closes.

+1 vote for Linux version. Although AR works through wine, it'll be nice to have native Linux version so it isn't dependent on wine anymore.

it is possible to integrate artrage and winelibs in one package.
Thats what google devs did to picasa to port it to linux. It runs even without wine.

I dont know if AR devs are interested in that, but it will show that they notice the linux world and will certainly put them in the hearts of many people.
