Morning Patrol... A sneak peek for fantasy geeks!

Ok, I know it's mean but here is a cropped peek at my latest effort. It started life as a simple landscape study and became an illustration for a magazine. With the deadline looming and a request from the editor for my March Hare image, this one will remain unpublished for now. Given the additional time I now have to complete it, I plan to do it up right. 8)

So good already. I'm looking forward to your finished one. Do you mind I ask how long does it take you to finish one like this?

pai- Thanks. This one is 2596 X 3361 pixels. The images below show a section cropped at the actual size and how big the crop area is in proportion to the entire image. I have invested about 12 hours in this image up to this point and I plan to spend at least 8 more. I will reveal sections as I complete more of the image and show the final in the gallery section of the forum.

oh  well im captured..ill definitly be coming back to see this progress...feels kinda Pern-like to me ...love how big the actuall size is..im imagining it as an enormous mural sized peice taking up the whole wall of a gallery, and the contrast of the watercoloury feeling background to the wings is really nice <contented sigh> so nice to see more from you again my friend..and just in time for the first day of spring tomorrow ..tis like seeing the first flower buds coming into bloom

Argh! The torment! I can see it's going to be brilliant, and I'm going to have to wait!

Selby- You say the nicest things. ops:

Andy- Thanks for the vote of confidence. Torment is close to the feeling of being on pins and needles for a new ArtRage release.

    Here's another peek.

    Feels like we're playing 'Concentration'.

Answer correctly and we'll reveal a section of the puzzle.

And if Selby's right, and it is Pern, we had best get it into the After 9:00 section before Fashmir reveals too much.

Looks good. Nice color and values.

Andy- !!!! ArtRage 5.0...?!?!? Your white board extends that far into the future? I'm hoping to live long enough to see your solution for watercolors (I need not remind you). I keep thinking that will be a 3.0 thing. Please by all means start dropping hints. Let the torture begin.

D Akey- Funny that, I feel I've been in a state of concentration through out this project. 8) Not to worry about the Pern. It's not hard core it's just soft Pern.

    Here is today's peek.
