Just finished this one. My reference photo was taken by a photographer on Deviant Art - thanks to stephenjohnsmith for allowing me to use it. I used mainly oils and palette knife and a bit of airbrush and pencil.

Great work Vandra. You captured the wave on the beach perfectly!
I wouldn't know a Hebrides from a zebradees, but this is certainly a sweeping dramatic panoramic. . . Dynamic photo you chose. Nice painting rendition of it. Reminds me of my youth kicking around the Northwest Coastal beaches with all their drama. Some things are so universal, aren't they. . .

Just marvellous and excellently rendered. This scene is so powerful! Just a pity those islands aren't too fit for bathing and suntanning too ....![]()
Panta rei (everything flows)!
Ann, wonderful work on the foam as the wave breaks on the sand - looks so true to life.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
That walk the world

Beautiful and dramatic painting.
Thank you all for your comments.
Caesar, I have been to Scotland but never to the Hebrides. I believe they are very beautiful, but sadly, as you say, not a place for bathing and sun tanning![]()
