Thread: Galaxy Note 4 pen holder?

  1. #1

    Galaxy Note 4 pen holder?

My desire to sketch on the Note 4 is stymied by the size of the pen. My hands are actually quite small, yet it is unworkable for me.

Various solutions have been found for earlier Note models. Unfortunately, the shape of the pen is highly specific to the model. There is a pen holder for the Note 3, but I do not think it provides access to the side button on the Note 4 pen.

A Lenovo tablet pen is detected, but does not put the contact spot under the pen, because the Lenovo pen is not completely compatible with the newer Wacom technology in the Note 4.

A modern Wacom tablet pen does not work at all.

    Solutions?

It is the size of a regular pen. But, it does fit better as a writing instrument.

    Wacom pen, not recommended

I tried the Wacom pen, but I cannot recommend it.

Although the pen is specifically recommended by Wacom for the Note 4, it does not have the angle sensitivity introduced in the Note 4. So as the pen is tilted, the "sprite" indicating the contact point moves towards the barrel of the pen. The inconvenience is made worse by the design of the pen which, for marketing purposes, has a bulky fake chrome front cap, which makes it hard to see the sprite when it moves under the pen.

Even when the pen is held vertical, the sprite does not coincide with the contact point of the pen. This would occur if the induction coils in the pen are not well centered in the barrel.
