I will indeed keep doing more... ArtRage is a joy to use and much better suited at tablet work than Photoshop

There is still a couple of brush techniques that I use in PS and that I still haven't found a way to do in ArtRage, but I am pretty confident I will be 100% satisfied in a short while.

For instance, I have done the following drawing a couple of days ago in PS, and I am pretty happy with the way the colors mix with the heavily textured background canvas (scan of a coarse cotton canvas). I would like to get the same brush style in ArtRage, but I still do not know how to do :



If you have some ideas to share about this brush style, I'd be glad to read them !

Welcome! Fantastic illustrations and characters! You show much confidence and high skills since your start.

The whimsical style is great. I don't have any real suggestions to make it better. However an alternate might be to sharpen it up, to clean up the sketch lines a bit which would give it a different feel. It's not better, just a variation. While all the figures are spread out and not overlapping everything is nice and distinct. Since they are so similar in treatment, they might start to merge into one another. But again, this may never be an issue because for this kind of picture you can always keep them separated. There would be a couple ways to deal with it -- making some of them different colors, or certainly you can use value changes as well. But your point of all this may be to show a clear artist's world vision and so changing them would not be such a good idea.

Anyway, I love this style. It's very charming as you are doing it. So again, my suggestions are merely thinking aloud.
