    Western Tanager

So this, to the best of my knowledge, is a Western Tanager. (At least that's what the photo reference said . . . I know next to nothing about ornithology.)

If it's not, well, it won't be the first time I've goofed up.

Nice consistency among the animal illustrations. I think you're over time getting better with it though they have all been great. I like the brighter color and the ratio of the break up of the blobs to ultimately create a larger section of color mass for the final impression of the bird.

There was an illustrator you may want to look up who was related in the way he designed his marks - Doug Johnson. He was a popular illustrator in the 80s and before and since. I just remember seeing his work around in the 80s.

It's a difficult 'medium' you're working in Mike, and he is a very nice little bird.
