some guidance

I started drawing a few months ago and although I am getting better at understanding techniques etc i cant seem to get away from 'shiny' faces...



I have played with layers and blending etc but I cant seem to avoid having skin look bleached out.


Any help appreciated

One thing I can see is that your highlights are pure white, which should just be a lighter color of the skin or even a completely different color to complement the skin tone.
