    The bird

I'm giving everybody the bird. Actually it's my first bird. The clouds were a last minute idea, the plain sky looked boring.

The last time I kept an open mind,
my brain fell out and the dog grabbed it.
Now it's full of dirt, toothmarks, and dog slobber.

a bird is a word. . . or can be, in a very Magritte inspired way.

But it can also be a painting of a bird, rather than a real bird.

Love it. The cloud is a good idea to fill the space. You could perhaps design the cloud shape in a way to work the composition and feature the bird as if against an organic background vignette kind of thing.

But this is really good! Outstanding detail. Gotta love wings. They're incredibly beautiful in most all creatures.

Oh, and a little cheat perhaps, not having seen the source photo, but you might want to put in a subtle little dot for a highlight in the eye to make it feel glassy.

Yeah, the cloud is poorly done and there is way too much open sky. I originally just put the blue layer there as a background so I could see the lighter colors then decided it would have made a good sky. I've been just concentrating on drawing only the main object, I guess it's time to start paying more attention to backgrounds.

Thanks. I see a few mistakes in it but it's a learning experience.

Like every drawing, it was practice for the next one. I'm pretty happy with it except for a few mistakes.
