Like home is sittin' on top of the world with that sky.

I love the painted color especially in the grasses. Your style is really cookin' now. Nice blend between a plein aire painterly-ness and a sketchbook. Still has the home spun quality, though not quite grass roots. More educated and eclectic. I would expect someone living there in that house to be another Tennessee Williams or even a Harper Lee if it was a little more humid and deep South.

But you get the idea -- the rural place which is populated by richly flavored, straight forward characters rendered by someone bright enough to see what's going on with all the dynamics, but apart enough to let them play their roles out unselfconsciously.

Love your color especially those autumn grass on both sides of the path and the loose brush strokes on this. Very good painting.

A solid work Neal - it works so well because everything comes together so "just right". I love the colors and how they harmonize, the brushwork, the solid composition, the apparent effortlessness in the vibrant "to life" expression. Really nice.

I love the watercolour look here, Neil. So inviting and precious, because it is somebodies home and you expressed all of this elements in this picture. Very good.
