    it reminds me of the terracotta warriors of the ancient city Xi An. very nice concept of the battered warrior.

    chinapete..my you have been busy... I like this..definitely has the battled warrior aspect.. deep earth tones...still amazed at how you get such a soft look...you must have a lot of patience...

    This began as a generalized face and morphed into a mask ... Eventually it felt like bronze, I hadn't thought of terracotta, but that makes sense too ...

    I must have had Rembrandt in the back of my mind, but also a less harsh Lucian Freud ...

    When I first joined the forums, I tried to keep pace with everyone here, now I have the more modest goal of not falling too far behind, hehe ...
