How do you blot your foliage textures?

What are some of the ways you use brushes to create foliage as you would with real oil brushes? (Think Bob Ross "Happy Trees")

I ask specifically because I am working on a painting that contains some moss covered rocks and I am having a hard time coming up with a good solution.

It depends on the painting. Painting over a textured stencil works pretty, if you have a find the right texture. I like to use the sticker spray, or glitter tool, though. Here's a link to a thread, where I posted a sticker spray I created, that comes close to a Bob Ross style: http://www2.ambientdesign.com/forums...ad.php?t=37629
Nothing is easy to the unwilling.
