    In some cases, reducing the image is changing texture of the canvas

    I accidentally discovered this:
    In some cases, reducing the image is changing texture of the canvas( visually).
    Original(left img): 1536x2000px,72 px/inch, canvas: softcanvas 16;
    Resized(right img): 768x1000px.
    Screenshot taken from the images the same size (with the another program)
    Try yourself with Crayon tool.

    Thanks to the developers for my favorite paint program!

    I asked about this once before, too. It's because the canvas texture scale doesn't change with the resizing of the dimensions. In real life, if one were to cut the ends off of a canvas, to make it smaller, the grain size wouldn't change. That line of thinking is basically carried over here. However... It does get in the way when cropping, because even though the size stays true, the grain aligns to the upper left, which throws everything off.

    In the case of resizing a finished image, I'd suggest exporting the image (full size) as a .PNG first. Then import that PNG back into ArtRage, and resize it (be sure to turn the lighting off, so any new grains won't interfere). Since the grain will have been merged into the PNG, it will scale down with the image.
