Copy of an Antonio Mancini painting

Before going on furtherly I think I have to review Oriane Lima's lessons on how to get a better impasto effect ...
Anyway here's my WIP. I just outlined part of the painting and started painting without measures, grids or any proportion setting trick.
Oils and knife on one layer.
This far it was fast enough and I the only trick I used was to have some high thinned or extremely low loading strokes so has to respectively get a color or a vague impasto texture effect I should improve though.
My mistake was not to start from a colored base maybe ...
