Now here is where things went wrong with this ........the phone rang and I thought I'd saved a screen shot after picture 3 showing work with the knife to block in the mountain shape........so you'll have to allow for that between shot 3 and 3a.........that is before I fade to give perspective

No Peter, the hardest part is thinking of a proper thank you! I will be working on this diligently and happily as this is something that I have always wanted to do! What a generous gift and from the bottom of my heart- an enormous thank you!

Peter, I started this and resized it for this area. Having difficulty with the second mountain. I will keep trying. I am having fun practicing though.

    This evening:
Peter, I may need to move this to the other section if the Rage team wants me to. Here is what I have done this evening. Still very difficult for me. Is this acceptable? I found that when I used the pencil on smooth that it also helped with the texture. I used heavy oil and the knife settings you suggested.

Excuse the liberty taken Sandy...........here's where I think you need to go

I took your pic and added same colour paint and I think you need to use the knife at high pressure and about 15/20% size to give a very rough texture to the paint before adding lighter colours for the highlights on the edges

the back peaks are excellent ........ just excellent!

    Keep going!

Peter, I am so glad that I checked back in before I left this afternoon! I wanted to keep practicing and had hoped that you had time to check in. Thank you very much doing this for me. I am going to print this one off so that I can have it right next to me while I practice. I hope that I can do it.
I am so happy that the back mountain meets your approval-now I am on cloud nine. Whew, now on to the second one. I can tell that this is going to be a challenge and quite a joy. Thanks so much!
