What is the Deviant Art site?

    Hi all,

We need input for the Feb 15th Issue.... for the ARTRAGEus E-Magazine on the Deviant Art site.

Who, what, where, why? Info on the groups of ARTRAGE artists on it. Any info possible for our readers and new forum members would be appreciated.

I have not had much time to review it all. I have a hard enough time getting to view our forum members art now... whew so nice by the way!

Thanks for your help and if someone wants a topic for a page for the Feb 15th Issue, this is it. Let me know, please. bobbyray02@msn.com

Yep, that's basically it. Actually, I'm happy to write something for that if you like as I've been active on there more than here, actually!

When this deviant art website is only about showing images for free, why are there buttons at serveral images for buying prints of them and who gets the money?

    And thanks Flynn!
First, your answer was, it is a website for people which want to show their
art but do not want to pay money for a webspace.
Well, as you confirmed in your last answer, it is only part of the truth. I
suppose Bobbyray wants to write a correct article for his magazine that
contains all facts about deviantart. com and not only half of it.

Second, I am not a native English speaker who knows evey English word and
understands every text on every website that uses English language.
In the past I got several links from people to deviantart images, but
the structure of the site always puzzled me. I often got direct links to
some image and at some there was a label to buy them and at some not.
Trying to navigate through the site often let me end up somewhere were
I did not want to end up. Confusing structure for me as 'non English Alien'.

When I am writing here, I always have a dictionary by my side, but it does
not contain every word and a proper translation. And it takes some time
to look up all the words.

    Regards.

Narf....I commend you for doing such a fantastic job with your English translation. I truly mean that in the very best of ways and compliments. For me, being only English speaking, I even struggle to navigate through many of the English web sites! My first few walks through the Deviant Art site was confusing as well, too. I had no idea as to people selling their art and I can't tell you how many times I ended up far away from where I started because I clicked on an image or link!

For me, I would have never known that English wasn't your native language if I didn't see that you were from Germany. You have my utmost respect and admiration, Narf! As do many others here in this forum that English is their second language!
