    Tuscan Earth

this name came from one of the great sample colors used in its creation..and it has that feel of a mix of country and old townships..

    The Curtains of Perception, Aldus?

I like the broken color in this instance. Feels good.

thanks D Akey the details of this work work much better at full scale.. they get a bit
lost when scrunched down to a small jpeg..

Not sure you know the term "Broken color". It basically refers to not having a flat color -- it's broken up. So it's not meant that anything is "not working". It is that there are passages of color that show different bits, while in this case allowing the relative shapes to hold together and relate within that shape. Art terminology.

And in this painting I think the broken color is working. <---hope that means the right thing now

I knew what you meant by that term, I used broken color extensively when I was painting landscapes with oils... I loved the effect, guess old habit die hard..
