Can't save
Hi, I'm new to artrage. Every time I try to save a painting I get this message.
"An error ocurred on attempting to read/write data from/file a stream. Artrage could not construct a file reference for the requested file. You may need to restart the application."
What can I do to fix this?

This error can be caused by several things - memory, file permissions, damaged files - and basically means it can't finish what it is doing. Can you tell me:
1) What operating system and version of ArtRage you are using?
2) If you are able to save to a new location (e.g. the desktop)?
3) If you can use File > Export... instead?

Thanks for the reply.
1)I'm using Artrage lite and Windows 7 professional
2)I can't save in any location2
3) I can't export. This is the message I get "Artrage expected an image file but did not recognise the format of the selected file. Please chose a different image.

Okay, can you try opening ArtRage by right clicking and choosing 'run as admin'? (it sounds like it isn't being given permission to access anything).
If that doesn't work, we might need to do some more advanced troubleshooting, which will be easier if you email us at [email protected]

Hello talc and welcome to the ArtRage forums
Sorry to hear you’re having problems
Dose it fail to save in all locations on your system? And have you tried Hannah’s suggestion above, about running as Admin?
If so and it’s still failing, as Hannah suggested it might be better for you to contact Ambient Design support directly, here: [email protected]
Hope you can get it sorted soon
