ArtRage.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close

    Hi there

I'm having a wee bit of trouble with the ruler function. As soon as I select 'ruler' from within stencils I get the following Microsoft error message.

"ArtRage.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience." And the program closes.

This only happens on selecting the ruler. All other stencils are ok.

Anyone know how to fix it?

    I have version 2.5.19
    on Windows XP
Using a Intuos3 (driver up to date)

    Hi Fes,

Can you make sure you send error reports to Microsoft when that occurs. There is a bug we're trying to track down relating to that. I think it has something to do with the default system font size or style, but we're still working on that one.
We can then download the error reports from Microsoft which help isolate the problem.

Yup, will do. I've sent the error messages to Microsoft. I could send you the .txt file with the error message that gets sent to Microsoft if that's any help.

    Thanks, that's okay.
When we get it from Microsoft it's in a format that allows us to use DevStudio to find what caused the bug (in theory!)

Ok. Guess I'll just have to give using rulers a miss till you find out what the bug is. :?

In the meantime you can still use a straight-edged stencil as a ruler.

In another application create a long thin black rectangle against a white background. Save as a PNG. Add the stencil to the rulers section in the ArtRage stencil picker.
Stencils added to the ruler section of the ArtRage stencil picker automatically act like a guide when the're dropped on the ArtRage canvas.
(Note that ANY stencil can act like a guide or ruler if you right-click on the stencil on the ArtRage canvas, and choose 'Ruler mode' (for masked guides) or 'Guide Mode' (for un-masked guides).)

First i'll say that i enjoy having AR running with Wine and Kubuntu
    Feisty.
All seems to be ok, except that ruler thing, that Fes
    discovered
If i click the ruler in the stencils dialog, Artrage save the
current painting (very good error handling) and well... quits.
Hmmh, i can live with that without problems and i know it's
    not your fault...
Oh, on my w2k system all works fine.
    Hope that helps a bit.
