How to duplicate something exactly but change the colour?

If this is possible to do this, I wish I already knew it.

When I do something very cool in a certain colour and I want to duplicate it in a different colour (ie do an identical thing but in a different colour) what can I do? What I have been doing is creating a stencil and redoing it in the different colour, but this is time consuming and does not produce an exactly identical result.

    What does everyone else do?

    Thanks
    Julianne

You could import it into Photoshop, change the color and then export it right back to ArtRage..

Yeah, what I normally do is do that in Xara, but would love to do it all in ArtRage, it honestly is my favourite programme now. So easy to use! Well apart from this wee thing.
