    18th birthday

    Hi all,

    Today is my 18th Birthday!
My parents gave me the option of either creating my own website on which I could sell my art (people have been asking me if they are for sale) or to create a photobook. And of course they would pay for either.

For those of you that have online stores to sell your art at, I was wondering if you have heard of Yessy...it's seems like a pretty good website. You pay around $60 annually to sell your art.

My other question would be...how do you print out your paintings? Do you have a professional printer with pro-paper? Basically...how do you print them out? And is it worth it?

Thank you so much in advance,

    Netti

    And Happy Holidays to All!

    Happy Birthday Netti!!!!!!!!

I've not had experience with printing paintings outside of the standard printing of commercial printers for commercial things. Never fine art.

Giclees are common now and that is printing onto a stretched canvas. It gives it the look of a painting somewhat. No depth of surface pigment like an oil painting might have. I think Robert has done that printing process and was happy with it. Another thing some artists do is to paint a few thick strokes over their giclees to make it feel more like a regular painting. But it's not essential for sure.

It's a broad question because there are all different processes and costs.

Have fun with the search. I'm sure it will be educational and rewarding at this early stage of the fine art side of your career.

And your paintings are beautiful. Hope you sell a lot.

    Happy birthday Netti.
Here's a link to a thread explaining how I sell my stuff. I use Etsy.com and have sold seven in about 2 months for a net profit of around $150.

    Happy Birthday Netti..
In answer to your question, I think the resolution of which you created your paintings has a lot to do with the quality of the finished printed product..
Hope you have had a great birthday..

Happy Birthday Netti. A Solstice baby perhaps? Would that make it the longest birthday? 8)
