    Filling in areas with color

I'm about 3 weeks into playing with my full copy of ArtRage, and trying to un-learn some computer/paint paradigms, including easy filling of an area with a color.

Say I'm sketching something out, like a building, and later want to fill in areas with color (brick tones, glass tones, etc.)

are there techniques which can help me do this quickly and neatly, ie "staying within the lines?"

    thank you!

hmm, Archer, I do understand your request.

I know it's really not "artrage-like", but I too need some kind of a paint-bucket tool, ala photoshop. That is so much faster when shapes get filled automatically, colors "staying within the lines".
A computer is supposed to save time, right?
You know, now I'm getting used to Artrage, my usual process is to scan a hand-made artline, filling it up with colors in Photoshop, and then importing the result in Artrage for the "real" rendering :? Way faster than painting from scratch in AR.
I would like so to be able to do it all in AR, and get rid of PS (I know AR purists are gonna cry, but what!?)

maybe a really big brush IS the way...

what I have been doing is using various layers to fill in underneath my pencil sketch, then erasing away the excess.

it basically works, but seems inelegant in a way..

    it does work, tho...

    Hi Archer,
Or the Roller or the Airbush, these go up to 500%.

The eraser is very accurate and makes a fine line better than any other tool.

    Hi Sar,

Artrage makes things faster than traditional real painting.
That's all a lot of people want. Relaxez vous!
