No more pressure sensivity since the ubuntu update to 7.10

    Hello,

I have been using ArtRage2.5 with Ubuntu 7.04 (+wine) and a WACOM Graphire 4 tablet since a few months, and it worked perfectly. I really enjoyed.

But since the update to Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy gibbon), I lost the pressure sensibility in my tablet in ArtRage !

Please tell me if you experienced the same thing, and if you managed to resolve the problem !

For your information, GIMP recognizes the pressure signal after enabling "extended pointing devices" in the preferences box.

Furthermore, my file "xorg.conf" is still the same, and worked perfectly just before the update. It's weird.

Please help ! I really want to find my artrage back :-)

    Thanks

    Yohan

Unfortunately I've had this same issue with 7.04 and now still with 7.10. Unfortunately no solution yet!

I wish we could solve it somehow b'cos Artrage is such a great tool!

My problem of tablet sensitivity has been solved !

I just had to compile WINE from source.

Here is the way to do it :
Download the WINE source from the WineHQ website

    and choose "WINE SOURCE DOWNLOAD".

Then uncompress the file in your home directory and execute
    tools/wineinstall

then it's perfect for me !!!

    good luck

I actually just saw this thread after I started my own (since deleted). Aside from compiling Wine from source, does there need to be anything else done, such as installing Wacom-tools? Or is that outdated?

I'm completely new to the Linux scene.

    Ubuntu 7.10
    Wine 0.9.53
    ArtRage 2
    Graphire 2 pad.

    Hi,

I believe that I had to have wacom-tools installed.
On Ubuntu I also had to edit my xorg as the lines for the wacom tablet were commented out. Once you do that I think pressure sensitivity starts to work (in both Linux native and Wine applications).

Try that and post any questions / issues you have.

    Cheers
    Rax

Old thread, just in case anyone still has a problem...

I had a problem with pressure sensitivity on my laptop...
The problem was the touchpad was conflicting with the wacom.

To fix I removed the touchpad from xorg.conf and it's been fine ever since.
