I'm sort of slaying a personal dragon here..
Doing any sort of detail work has really intimidated me so far, so I forced myself to sit down and paint something with some detail.
I know it's rough as a corn cob in January, but, am I at least headed in the right direction?
What I've learned from my personal journey so far is that you're always headed in the right direction as long as you're determined and keep at it.
There's nothing "wrong" with what you're doing at this point in your personal, artistic development. There are no "wrongs" in art I think. Except for giving up.
In the meantime, enjoy the process and remember The Desiderata:
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Thank you. I very much appreciate the advice.
Treaded onto new ground, and did some roof work, adding more detail.
It's rough, but I wanted to get it done, and I'm pretty sure I will be able to do it better now that I've already done it.
