Thread: another blending request

    another blending request

    I never use a palette knife in reality and haven't really warmed to it in software either.
    I do really like using a brush with 0% loading to blend, but I'd like a toggle button option which allows me to blend colours indefinitely regardless of how dry or thin the paint is. Furthermore, I'd like a sub option to blend colours on different layers. I know it might not strictly be in keeping with Artrage's philosophy but in reality this is the only way I blend oil paintings and it allows very precise control, giving photoreal quality gradients if that is what is required. I reason that if I can do that with real oils then I should be able to do it in ArtRage without breaking your philosophy, especially when it is a toggle button, you at least get the choice then
    I also agree that more brush shapes would improve the app no end.
    Those niggles aside, I absolutely love 2.5 - you're doing a great job

    Hello everybody. It's my first post.

    I try ArtRag 2.5. It's a fabulous application.

    I think you could add in next ArtRage version :

    all tools inclued in ArtRage 2.5 but in dry version to draw with tube colors : dry brushs, dry rollers, dry markers, dry pencils, like the dry painting knife ;

    others dry tools like : match, other cutting pieces of wood, feather, stamp, ;

    charkoal, china ink ;

    a blow pen ;

    and why not a "special" tube with more "pre-selected" colors inside.

    add oil stick. Do you know oil stick ? Oil sticks are oil paint in solid.

    Congratulations for your job.

    Hi Boxy,

    Do you think, ArtRage authors read theses topics and pic up idea ?
    I hope.

    [between us] P.S.
    If someone find a good idea, he win a free & full version of ArtRage ?
    I joke. [/between us]

    I'm certain they read them.

    Ha, I don't think the full version costs enough to be worth giving away

    I just thought of another couple of things which I am not sure Ambient Design will like, but I think would make it more useful as a production tool:

    -Some simple Hue/Saturation colour adjustment. Being able to do things like adjust global colour is one of the great benefits of digital painting.

    -I'd like to be able to control the 3D lighting, even switch it off if necessary (oh maybe you can already and I missed it?)

    -The transforms are very welcome but really tricky to use on an A3 file so I'd like to see those get much faster.

    Cheers

    Yup, we definitely read every message in the suggestions forum.
    We're in the process of debating the feature set for the next major release of ArtRage and have been discussing all the suggestions here.

    "Sure - how hard can it be?"
