Looking for a German / French translation ( small )

    Hi all!

I'm doing some work on the website and I was wondering if any French and German speakers might be able to tell me how to write the following in those two languages:

    "Confirm your email address"

This is in the context of having entered your email address once, with a new box below to enter it again in order to confirm it.

I'm just concerned I'll end up asking for someone's shoes accidentally, or saying "Enter your email address again, or else!" or something accidentally impolite!

    Hi Dave,

    the direct German translation is:

    "Bestätigen Sie Ihre E-Mail-Adresse"

but in this context I would suggest:

    "Bitte wiederholen Sie Ihre E-Mail-Adresse"

(this is more polite ("bitte" = "please" and the emphasis lies on entering the email address "once again")

In french you can also write:

    "Veuillez confirmer votre adresse courriel"

e-mail is largely used in France but more and more countries are adopting "courriel".

In any case: e-mail is quite clear.

    Thanks again everyone!

    Here are the final pages:

    www.artrage.com/artrageinstaller_de.html
    www.artrage.com/artrageinstaller_fr.html

If anyone spots items there which they feel could be improved, feel free to let me know, I'm always happy to be corrected!

We've just been rearranging this a little so that people are able to confirm their email address in order to avoid typing errors causing problems.

Wow, thanks for going to the trouble of providing that, marcotronic!

I'm just uploading a fixed version which takes the majority of these into account, that's fantastic.

    Hi,
In the french text you use both "email" and "courriel'.

I would opt for one or the other so to not confuse the visitor.
Thinking about this, I figure a lot people visit english web sites and if they don't speak french or english they will surely know the word "email".

    Instaid of "submit"
    You can write " Envoyer"
If "submit" is built in the form, it is in any case, quite self understanding that we have to click the button.
