    Screen Recorder?

I was thinking how awesome it would be to record every step of a painting in ArtRage. Does anyone know of a good FREE screen recorder that can be downloaded?

Thank you guys! I have tried many but somehow almost all of these recorders freeze on my computer, I have vista, and therefore not a lot of free memory. Thanks for the help. I found one finally too!

I followed the advise of ÄlveKatt , now I found out how to record a file, at the speed and size I wanted, but it still comes out full sized.
I have to zoom out to half format, to view properly. Can one specify the output size? :?: or is this "post production work?
(if so , here ends my search..)
Just say: "Rage It", because we already know it's art.

Apologies for resurrecting an ancient thread, but wanted to add another (currently) freeware, cross-platform (OS X and Windows, not Linux) solution: Jing Project. The UI could use a little help, but like Skitch for stills (Mac only, Windows version in the works), I'm finding Jing quickly becoming invaluable for video screen captures. I had no reason for these apps until I started using them, and now I wonder how I did without. As has been mentioned already, it's a fantastic way to show software developers bugs; since I always have a bazillion betas installed, it really comes in handy.

P.S. [Off-topic] Skitch is invite-only right now. Want to try it? PM me your e-mail address.
