    Move Layers

I don't know if this suggestion has been posted yet. But a way to move or pan layers around would be nice. Sometimes I like to duplicate my layer and move it to the side and make changes to that to make a comparison. I can't seem to find a way to do that right now so when trying out different ideas, I find I'm switching back to Sketchbook Pro on my company's machine.

Other people have requested selection tools that can be also used to do this and I think that would be very cool as well!

Me votes for movable layers! :)

As a new user movable layers are one of the main thing that feel missing from the program (I'm sure there must be technical reasons why it has not already been added).

One way it could be implemented without adding clutter to the the UI, is to make the pan tool work as a move tool when draging (as a starting point) from the the main layer thumbnail (thingy at the bottom). Now that I think about it you could make the rotate canvas tool also work the same way (to rotate the layer).

Layer translation would be nice. Seems like this should already be present...

You can do this already if you feel it is nessasery.

First you could set transparent from layer to zero and al paint is
out of sight but not gone. transparency to 100 for back showing.

But there is also an other way !

    Tip from Fashmir.

You can already export layer as png !

But you can also import images (for example, transparent png)
    back into ArtRage !

You find export in your Tools/layer options .

Import can be done like this:

load the image as Tools/load new tracing image .

In the canvas panel below, open the tracing image settings
and set transparecy to zero !

    add a new layer.

and than in canvas panel (little triangle)

Convert tracing image to paint on this layer.

    That's it.

    Succes

    Johan

Or just mark your layer as out, just above the transparency.
