    Song Lyrics and Poetry

Create an image based on a song lyric or poem. Include the appropriate portion of lyric/poetry. I have a modest example ...

"When you see the Southern Cross for the first time,
You understand now why you came this way,
'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from is so small,
But it's as big as the promise, the promise of a coming day."

    Stephen Stills / "Southern Cross"

    Rain on the Roof

"You and me and rain on the roof,
Caught up in a summer shower,
Drying while it soaks the flowers,
Maybe we'll be caught for hours,
    Waiting out the sun."

    The Lovin' Spoonful

"I came upon a child of god
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, where are you going
    And this he told me
Im going on down to yasgurs farm
Im going to join in a rock n roll band
Im going to camp out on the land
Im going to try an get my soul free
    We are stardust
    We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
    Back to the garden"

    Woodstock Joni Mitchell

This is an old picture but I thought it could get a new airing here Bob?

    "I see a bad moon a-rising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earth quakes and lightnin'.
    I see bad times today.

    Don't go 'round tonight
it's bound and take your life,
there's a bad moon on the rise."

    John Fogarty

    @ Peter

I really love that imagery. Very graphic and beautifully managed. I agree with Bob. The handling of your paint is imaginative and delightful.

    @ hinket,

What a fine, personal piece this is. It has a hand crafted collage feel, reminiscent of the 1960s peace movement (to me).

Wonderfully appropriate as a personal expression of Peace on earth and the optimism one has for how we can live in harmony.

The rainbow, showing harmonic diversity, a layered progression and a storm passed through to good weather.

Never heard the song that I know of, but the spirit of it comes through your work here I imagine..
