Hi June, It's good to hear from you! Yes, I use layers--the topmost layer is for lines and detail colors and next lower down is for shape colors then lower is background then the first layer is the illustration. I Enjoy tracing my lines with color--it helps control the coloring and I think, adds to the color scheme. I have a slight tremor now, but that's alright. I guess it comes with age.
