Thread: How about a variable Zoom!

    How about a variable Zoom!

Would be nice to have a variable zoom. Holding a hotkey and dragging the cursor left or right or up and down. Typing in is cumbersome and 25/50/75 etc is way too limited.

    Thanks

    Interesting idea michaelws...
There is always the Canvas Positioner, which already allows click & drag left/right to zoom the canvas. If that helps you.
But, although I use the Touch Wheel on my tablet for zooming, I have wondered at times why one can not just click & drag left/right in the Zoom field that’s shown in the Top Toolbar to change the zoom level, the same as you can in the Tool Size field to change tool sizes there.
No special keys, actions or panels would be needed for that to work.

Thanks for that tip. I never clicked and dragged in that little section before. Yes that works as a variable zoom. I always just clicked on it and it brought up a small window that I would then type a number into for the zoom factor. Thanks so much markw.

space + shift + drag (on mac os) does what you're looking for.
