    Hello Varg and welcome to the ArtRage forums
    That dose look quite alarming! However it’s not something I am seeing in ARV. Which Mac version are you on?
    Can you post screenshots of the whole app with tool and canvas setting showing?
    All past versions of AR do indeed use a lighting model that uses “fall off”. With, by default, top left of the canvas slightly lighter than the bottom right which also effects the perceived brightness of paint if you compare those two areas. But your screenshot dose look extreme!
    As for the Colour Sampler it can be set to ignore canvas lighting and just pick the true colour.

    Hang on, I've just had a thought, were you using a metallic paint setting? That could cause what you are seeing.
