    Traditional oil

This one is an older painting I did before I slowly started getting away from impasto due to dry time. I’m getting back to this style because I’ve gradually become too blended. It is a portrait of my Father who suffered from mental illness

Personally I have nothing against mixed medias techniques,
in our times is possible almost everything at this level.

On the other side you probably know that we have several methods to speed the drying oil paint on canvas.

Your technique is very Alla prima and with a good medium is no problem to have a paint dry from one day to the next day.

Your Father's portrait is very expressive and moving.
I am sure you would be able to make an excellent portrait of the poet Pavese eventually .
