    First serious attempt with ArtRage

Really like the forgiving nature of ArtRage. Subject matter is from my own photo. How did I do?

Excellent! Lovely water effect. On another note I'm jealous you got so close to a heron.

There's no getting close to a heron, luckily, I have a Canon Powershot camera to zoom in on nature at times when conditions are right. Thank you for your comments.

Very nice! I imagine taking your own photos and then turning them into paintings is very satisfying. So do you think about making a painting when you're taking pictures or did you just pick it after going through your shots looking for something to paint?

Very fresh colors too. Welcome to the forums!

I really just grab my camera and start shooting with just the intent of getting the subject matter in a good composed shot. Since moving to a house on a lake and a farm pond. I have been fortunate to capture some interesting characters of nature. The Heron actually just swallowed a bluegill but I was unable to capture the initial act of the heron positioning the fish so it had a straight shot down its throat. My next post will be that of a Killdeer.
