    second portrait... getting easier!

    Mother and new baby :-)
    I traced the image and used the original photo to seclect the correct colours. I painted different areas on separate layers. I managed to add skin imperfections and freckles by using layers and the snow particle brush and loosely blended to get the affect I wanted with one of the knives. I mostly used the pencils and the knives for blending, with a homemade hair brush. At the end I added more highlights, moderated colours and painted the clothes. I used a neutral background.

    Thank you Saphire. I think I need an emotional connection with a picture to do it justice. Probably why this is the second ever person portrait

    Such a loving touch and attention to subtleties. I love the baby's face and the mom's eyes. Most engaging. Beautiful work.
