    Portrait for a friend

My friend asked if I could do a portrait of her late Father.

That looks very good so far. I'm also doing a portrait, and am intrigued you are also using a darker layer underneath. Do you paint on layers?

    Hi,

    Thanks

Yes I paint on layers. I will either have my grid or guidelines and maybe base layer.

I used a dark background as I use pastel on grey background in real life sometimes.
I was told always have a shaded layer so its easier to compare colours against each other.
