    Straight Lines and Perspective

If you have problems with Straight lines and Perpspective then use a .jpg of a piece of Graph Paper as your tracing image. Wind up the strength of the Opacity when you want see if you're on track, remember to switch it out when you don't need it. If you don't, then what you see on the screen will be a pale version of your picture.

This picture below should work OK if you save it.

You could modify this .jpg with another package to put in a Vanishing Point and an Horizon to suit your picture.

There are many other forms of squared paper which might suit you better.

Other file formats may also be just as good, but this one can get to the site.

If you check out the link below, you can download a free background templates sampler that will include mostly everything you will need from perspective templates to graph sheets and lots more! It's a nice little pack, considering it's FREE!

The company was formerly called Alias before being changed to Autodesk. If you look at the "Autodesk SketchBook Pro software, it has a very similar user interface and simplicity, yet, has a much different purpose rom AR. This program is more for illustration/graphic purposes while AR is purely an artistic media program.

This company is known for their famous 3D software called "Maya" that is used for a lot of 3D work and special effects in a lot of Hollywood movies. Just wanted to let you guys know just in case you didn't know already. Cheers! Happy painting!

That was like offering the group one candy between them and being rewarded with the entire contents of a shop!

What a fund of information there is on this site!

I do not paint for a living, so cannot grasp how anyone would ever want more than is in one folder of this sample pack. It is amazingly comprehensive. If you do buildings and landscapes, go get it!

(A smaller sub-set would be handy with the ArtRage program for those who panic at the sight of Zip files. I have been using computers for many years, but it still seems a bit like Russian Roulette when I press Unzip or the Extract button.)

    Thank you very much.

Thanks for both the tips! I have added the graph paper and saved the link to Autodesk for future use. So much to explore, so little time...

    Link doesn't work.

Are these templates still available? The like no longer works.
