    Pensive Kitten

Watercolour with a texture layer. I am aware that he's 'floating' but I just didn't like the way a dark shadow interacted with the transparent watercolour.

“Floating” observations aside, another nice little portrait from you.
Really like the softness of those greys and the way they blend into one another

I love the simplified style design choices. Creates something of an iconic representation of a cute little thing who's filled with wonder, love and sport.

And yeah, there's something about kittens where they look like they're ignoring gravity anyway, so even a nice whisper of shadow around the paws would solve that without making the little tyke come off as too heavy while being earthbound. 'Cause the overall impression is really engaging as you have it.

Thanks Mark and DA. Now I'm working on a portrait requested by one of my daughter's friends. The reference photos are not too clear and as this is to be an image of a deceased pet it has to resemble her. It's one of those cats with grumpy faces.
