Subtle. I love the eyes as they stand out with loads of expression. I have a black cat and photographing her is a challenge because blacks run close together. In real life it's no problem seeing shapes, but in a camera, it's hard to get all the dimension we see and know to be there. That's probably why I can see all the information you put in like the nose and planes and all that -- It's like home. So nothing needs to change whatsoever. It's perfect.

Thanks DA. Yes, I agree, it's hard to paint black. I started with black and put in the lighter shades and that didn't really work so I reversed it and painted the head in a lighter colour and put in the blacks. It looks better as a larger image.
I also have a black cat and when he's in his favourite cubby hole it's only his eyes that give him away. That's of course if they are open!
