    June.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.

Excellent June! And some nice feathery textures
I’d be very satisfied with painting something that good myself!

    I second what Mark said.

Very clear. What makes it for me though is the continuation of the feather pattern very faintly in the air, off the body. It just brings a level of surprise and interest, and it creates a relation subtly beyond the usual color field treatment around a portrait.

If I were waxing poetic, I would consider that rhythmic echo like a visual representation of the cooing sound they make -- like subtle waves of pigeon-ness in the air, as if the bird is delivering a soliloquy about the utter bliss of perching on a statue whilst doing Shakespeare in the Park.

Thank you so much gentlemen for the kind words.

Mark, the feathers were tricky spent a lot of time on them.

DA the effect you noticed was produced by spraying colour on the background layer and going over it with the Frosted Spots knife preset. I find I use that preset quite often.
