Oh Mark! That takes my breath away.
    June.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.

That is pretty terrific. Really well done and quite timely as Winter and snows come on.

I love the snow effect. Adds a layer on interest that really smashes it.

June, D Akey, thank you for the kind comments.
Saw a documentary about Yellowstone recently and thought I just had to give painting a Bison a try!

    Black Cat

So this one originally started out as another watercolour.
But it kept saying it wanted to be an oil painting. So I listened to the painting.

Funny how they talk to you - mine keep saying "I know I'm at the ugly stage but keep going it will turn out OK".

A lovely painting Mark - I have a cat who loves to sit on the mantlepiece just like that.

I have a black cat so I really love this one, Mark.

The shimmer in the fur really works to describe the form. Lots of pleasing details throughout. A right fine job, this!

Thanks for the kind comments friends.

Yes, June, it’s always important to listen to what the painting is telling us!

Glad it hit a chord with you D Akey.

Go on Kate, what harm could doing one little watercolour do…? You know you want to!

    This time some bears!

After June’s recent posting of a couple of excellent bear paintings in her Gallery thread; ‘Mr Bruin’ I thought I might jump in on the theme and post a couple from my back catalog too.

    Terrific illustrations, Mark!

A great vision to end a year on a high note, a year that's been something of a "bear". . .
