Love the cheekbones! Very stylish like so many models and actors these days.
Nice job. Good study in values for sure. Yeah, three color is nearly full color. Professional printers used to charge by the number of colors in their print runs. So in school back in the Dark Ages when I went to school they had us actually do illustrations with limited palettes even though it was becoming rare.
I always found the restriction very interesting because so much could be done with limited palettes where it didn't feel limited. An awful lot of really gorgeous paperback illustrations were done nearly monochromatically. James Bama was one who would do little tableaus of some executive in shirtsleeves all wrinkled and intense with some backless gowned seductress -- all shown in nothing but warm tones -- but super detailed. Very viable way to go.
Because the alpaca's form reads well, yours doesn't seem limited but more like you simply chose to use those colors based on your vision.
Hope you got good feedback. It's a nice painting June.
