Bakers Lane.... I kind of fluffed this picture by giving the picture an Old Canvas texture which tends to get rid of all kinds of bad paint etc. I have managed to find in a file the picture with the faults and I'm posting it here so you can see why I did the bad deed, its better than fluffing it over....Jack.

I agree that pushing the darks was a good idea. It holds everything in place nicely without drawing attention to the dark halo around the butcher figure. Plus, I personally favor strong darks when possible as it often implies more than only what one paints. It's also great as a rich design element.
