    Still life - sage cutting

My wife had this sage cutting in a small, cut-glass vase on the kitchen window sill. I popped it on to the dining room table - with a very neutral background - to paint it. The fascination for me was in the light on the sage leaves and on the facets of the vase. Ink mainly, with some airbrush and pastel on the leaves.

What a design effort! Look at the complexity and precision of the vase. Those are lots of choices. Nice result. Almost like the vase has to give way to the sage for the title. As to the sage leaves, very interesting your texture variations on a theme as it were.

    Always a treat.
