Recreating oil paintings is quite fun. My method is probably a little unorthodox. For recreation I used the glitter brush and pallet knife extensively and then the detail line work is with the felt tip pen. I attached an image which kinda shows exactly how loose the painting actually is. My goal isn't so much to recreate the process, but the oil painting. And I'm not even stuck on technical accuracy, when it feels the same, I know I'm on the right track. My goal in these recreations is to lose my self and become a conduit for the artist intentions. I know it sounds crazy, but it's just what I do....back to this painting: The glitter brush works well to imitate particles suspended in layers and I use various pallet knives to blur out the glitter to whatever degree is necessary. This painting is probably 3-400 layers in it's entirety. A layer could just be a couple of dots here and there or giant swaths of change. I'm constantly merging layers and adjusting layers opacity to get the proper feeling of depth as I view oil paintings as 3 dimensional images rather than in 2 dimensions. Have a good day! Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it.

Some real gothic looking stuff, very imaginative.
I have a personally designed artwork gallery website at: www.stephenlopiano.com
There is one section full of pages there under the Digital Artwork category that is devoted entirely to paintings I have created with Art Rage.
