    Deli counter

The old café-cum-delicatessen in my village was sold and completely altered a few months ago. The new place - called "Relish" - is cool, modern, spacious and very pleasant. The old place ("Taste...deli") was stuffed and cluttered with bits and pieces - I loved it - and my illustration is a both memoir and a tribute to "Taste...deli". Let your eyes have a ramble...

The print version of this is 300dpi and CMYK - but I've found that CMYK doesn't look too good on screen here, so this is a 72dpi RBG screen version. Not quite as sharp as the full version - for which apologies.

It's interesting drawing a comparison between how you paint and how you play. Each detail is almost like notes in a fingered arrangement done in a certain key and in a particular time. You paint within a bandwidth of saturation and values, each detail getting similar attention. Very groovy tribute, like an homage in song.

Cheers, good sir - I suppose character and temperament will out - whatever the medium. :-)
