As someone who's relatively new doing art more seriously as a hobby I find that, if you want to know what each tool setting does e.g. Oil brush > depth slider, you just paint a few lines with 0% and 100% or any in between just to see how the tool changes. Instead of looking up old tutorials with google you could simply hover your mouse courser over any adjustable setting and get a small tooltip like "The stiffness of the oil brush will affect how the paint is drawn with the bristles <Click for more info> and then perhaps a link to the tool page.

Of course these tips could be toggled on and off over the Main settings menu. I think it would help to understand the tools better instead of frankensteining with the settings until you have something passable.
