It's really cool experimenting with brushes and tools. I do that myself. There's some nice brushes out there that imitate what happens with an actual drawing and mark making of all kinds. It's especially nice to find one or two (at minimum) and do pictures with them. For me I have a tendency to make marks and think they're great and never do anything with them thereafter. And that's fine, but I have found some favorites with which I was very pleased and use them to effect a particular look I'm going for.
