Can I paint onto an imported photo image?

I have a photo I want to enhance and annotate. I've imported it and saved it as a .ptg, but the AR tools don't work on top of the image. Is there some other way to approach this task; or does an AR painting have to be built from the canvas up?

You should be able to paint on top of it easily - either directly into the 'paint' of the photo (the photo layer will be quite thick paint, which will affect your drawing tools), or on a layer above.

Can you check and see if you're accidentally drawing on a layer under the photo? How did you import it? What version of ArtRage are you using? What does it look like when you try and draw?
