    Question Locking color?

    ArtRage for iPad Pro:

    1. Question: Is there any way to lock a color for a tool, such as locking 'black' for the ink pen? This would be a great option.
    2. Suggestion: Would be great to be able to save a palette for a specific artwork.

I'm not quite sure what you need for the first question, and the second may happen at some point, but is a memory issue so may not, but here are a few different answers that should help with both things.

    1. You can save a preset with a custom color (long press on tool or go to Settings > current/no preset to bring up the preset menu, then tap the '+' in the top right to name a new preset and selection options like a specific color. It will save whatever the current settings are). This means that you can jump straight to that color when you switch to that tool.

    2. You can lock the transparency of a layer, so you can repaint existing paint/color without going outside the lines, so to speak. Go to the layers menu and look in the options for a specific layer.

    3. If you want the tool to not mix as you paint, then either use a nonmixing tool (like the ink pen or a dry brush option) or a separate layer.

    4. If you need to quickly switch between colors and just pick from existing colors on the canvas, the color sampler is the long silver tool up the top. You can also turn on long pressing to pick colors by going into the menu preferences. Check the tool settings to toggle lighting on/off when picking.

    5. If you need a custom color set within a painting, save the colors as a reference image and just pick from that while you work.

Thank you very much! Very good explanation. Guess I'll read the manual a bit more carefully too LOL.

Glad to help! And while most of that is in the manuals somewhere, it's mostly little extra options that you might not really notice until you've been using ArtRage for awhile
